Why We stopped offering day-of coordination services
For one year we offered a “Just A Week” planning package. It was Snowberry’s version of day-of coordination. The concept was simple: one week before the wedding, we’d gather and review all quotes and contracts from the clients, review the client-made timeline, send a brief “hello” email to all vendors, walk through the venue with the clients to discuss their vision for flow and layout, conduct the ceremony rehearsal, and show up on the wedding day to keep things running smoothly. It was designed for couples who felt competent in planning but wanted to enjoy their wedding day without having to think about logistics and vendor management.
It was an experiment, and we learned a lot. We learned that we’ll never offer day-of coordination again. Here’s why:
Snowberry’s reputation of success is due to our high level of thoughtfulness, thoroughness, and attention to detail. Our success is due to our intentionality and our communication. We genuinely care about every one of our clients and want to make sure their wedding day is everything they’d dreamed. Getting to know our clients — what they like and don’t like, what makes them tick, where their priorities lie, what they value — is key to ensuring their perfect wedding day. This takes time; and time is something the “Just A Week” package did not offer. Because we spent so little time connecting with clients and really talking through their plans, we felt lost on the wedding day. We felt like we could have made their weddings ten times better if only we’d had stepped in months earlier to offer guidance, suggestions, insight, and wisdom. When vendors would ask us specific questions, we’d be embarassed to tell them that we didn’t have an answer because we hadn’t discussed those details with the client. We found ourselves approaching the clients multiple times throughout the reception to ask what they wanted to do about this or that since so many things popped up that we didn’t get a chance to go over beforehand. In the end, we felt like we were letting everyone down, including ourselves and the business.
Snowberry now offers just two planning packages: full service and partial service. You can read about them here. We stand behind both packages. They are investments you can feel good about.
When you hire Snowberry for your wedding, you should feel confident. You should feel relaxed and cared for. We don’t want anything less for you.
